Appian Developer
Length: 12 months
Location: Bristol or Leciester (2 days on site per week)
Rate: £550 to £650 per day via umbrella (dependant on experience)
As a Appian Developer, you will have the responsibility to ensure that you deliver positively towards the teams' technical solutions for customers on time and to the expected quality standard provided by the Systems Development Manager.
The role will require strong technical and logical skills and will provide the opportunity to influence the teams procedures and processes.
The post holder will be required to work with new and current software as they undertake technical design, modelling, software development, unit testing and deployment of new applications as well as continual improvement to existing applications.
You will regularly interact with key project stakeholders from other teams within the company, in another parts of the business; therefore, good interpersonal and communication skills are required.
Responsibilities
- To ensure software development is undertaken in accordance with IT quality, plan and procedures.
- To undertake efficient software development using good design and implementation methodologies.
- To undertake unit testing to verify developed software performs in accordance with the supporting requirements.
- To attend workshops/reviews/stand-ups to discuss the development project, demonstrate progress to date and communicate with project stakeholders.
- To prepare comprehensive documentation to support the completed application.
- To build and maintain software releases and patches in accordance with agreed Policies and Procedures - providing out of hours support during for these software releases and patches when required.
- Takes part in reviews of own work to ensure the continual use of best practice and local standards.
- Share knowledge with other teams within the company.
Experience
- Substantial (2 years) period of proven development experience.
- Demonstratable knowledge of Software Development Life Cycles (SDLC).
- Knowledge of waterfall, iterative and agile approaches to software delivery.
- Demonstratable experience working with BPM software applications like Appian.
- Disciplined and methodical approach to configuration control.
- Experience of application architecture and concepts of code re-use.
