For our customer Roche Diagnostics International AG based in Rotkreuz we are looking for a highly qualified Linux SW and HW Engineer

Background:
We are a team of Linux SW and HW Experts looking for a new team member to help us get better, providing Roche Linux along with know-how, expertise and support to various internal software projects. If you are passionate about GNU/Linux and look for interesting technologies and exciting challenges creating and maintaining the Roche Standard Linux distribution.

The perfect candidate has a master in Software Engineering and more than 5 years of experience in developing customized Linux distributions, as well as +5 years' experience with Linux systems. Additionally, the person is experienced in Embedded software, hardware drivers, ARM platform, hardware/software integration. Lastly, the candidate has a strong knowledge in operating systems and software building, testing, and packaging. Also, the candidate is fluent in English.

Tasks & Responsibilities:
. Contribute to Medical Instrument/Software Development Projects with technical knowhow
. Development and maintenance of in-house Linux distribution and open source tools
. Linux Software and Hardware troubleshooting, debugging and root-cause analysis

Must Haves:
. Master in SW Engineering or other degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience (min. 3 years)
. More than 5 years of experience as a Senior Linux Software Engineer
. +5 years' experience in developing customized Linux distributions
. +5 years' experience with Linux systems (Debian/Ubuntu)
. Experience in Embedded Software, Hardware Drivers, ARM Platform, hardware/software integration
. Development experience with C/C++, Python, Go, Web technologies, Shell Scripting
. Strong knowledge in Operating Systems and Software building, testing, packaging
. Team player with a "can do" attitude, quick learner, enjoying problem solving, ability to work independently
. English: advanced, ability to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences

Nice to Have:
. Experience in Virtualization/Container technologies, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines
. Debian package building
. German: not necessarily needed
