Role - Datacentre Engineer Work Pattern: 5 days on site Salary: £37k - £44k Location: Liverpool Benefits: Public Sector benefits The Datacentre Engineer oversees the network infrastructure supporting data storage, processing, and distribution within my clients centralised computing environment. As part of a collaborative team, they handle support, maintenance, and management of centralised Servers, high-performance computing, and storage systems. The role requires expertise in either Windows or Linux, with a working knowledge of the other operating systems. Responsibilities: Monitor the centralised computing infrastructure to ensure a consistent quality of service. Adhere to service level definitions and maintain appropriate documentation. Perform standard operational tasks to maintain the secure, efficient and effective running of the datacentres. This includes installing, configuring, monitoring and maintaining centralised server and storage hardware according to university standards. They also manage firmware revisions to ensure they are at supported levels.
