Performance/Failover Testing Engineer Salary: Open + Bonus Location: Chicago, IL Hybrid: 3 days onsite, 2 days remote *We are unable to provide sponsorship for this role* Qualifications Bachelor's degree 2-3 years in the areas of Performance/Failover Testing/Architecture/DevOps Experienced in application, hardware, and network testing Experience with Kafka or other messaging systems Hands-on experience building test automation and failover test suites Responsibilities Analyze the business requirements, understand the expectations from end user, review with Business Analysts/SMEs and design test scenarios. Works closely with development, QA, and operations teams to understand application architecture and performance requirements. Design and develop performance test scripts and scenarios using appropriate tools and frameworks. Monitor system behavior during performance, Load, Stress, and failover tests and ensure systems meet recovery time objectives. Conduct failover tests by simulations of hardware, software, and network failures.

Proficient in CAD (ProE/Creo), tolerance analysis, and design for assemblies with PCBs. Experienced in leading projects from concept to production, collaborating across disciplines, and working with suppliers. Strong communicator with a focus on quality, documentation, and multitasking Your responsibilities in the role Strong understanding of Mechanical design principles and technologies. Clearly understand documentation and the ability to work solely on problems as well as within a team environment Must be willing to work to and set high work standards and be a good communicator Strong understanding of plastic moulding and sheet metal fabrication design as well as a good understanding of tooling and parts manufacture. Lead Mechanical activities with a good understanding of different manufacturing and assembly options, also review/recommend new manufacturing/assembly technologies Lead/support; design reviews, assembly process, testing, etc Work with Engineers from different disciplines for the benefit of the project as a whole Able to work on multiple projects/tasks at the same time Experience of working on projects from basic concepts right through to production CAD (ProE/Creo preferred) Work with Suppliers throughout project life cycle Drawing, dimensioning & tolerancing experience Stress and Tolerance analysis experience Experience with assemblies containing PCBs/harnesses including design for EMC & Safety Experience with Rapid prototyping technologies BOM cost tracking Status reporting and tracking to schedule Documentation - Functional and Unit Test Specifications Further information provided upon application.
