Background : The Bank Innovation Hub has the mandate to explore and develop public goods geared towards improving the functioning of the global financial system. Against this background, the Bank is looking for an Azure Solutions Engineer to join the team in Basel. This is an interesting opportunity to join an innovative and dynamic environment with exposure to international projects and a broad technological landscape revolving around cloud, blockchain, ML/AI, and open-source technologies. The scope of the role would be to: Work closely with the Bank innovation project teams. Support the solution design and implementation of the projects in the Azure cloud. Liaise with internal units (IT, Corporate Security) and design and implement a flexible foundational Azure cloud infrastructure for the Banks experimental work. This is a re-fill role. We are looking for candidates with professional level experience (a minimum of 5 years of experience), but we are open to seeing more senior candidates if interested in this opportunity. This would be an opportunity for candidates to work on a variety of projects and initiatives around the Innovation Hub at an international level. The team works under the agile principles. Perfect candidate: An experienced Software Engineer with primary focus on open-source technology, as well as Cloud experience; who can adapt easily to new technologies and new teams in a multicultural environment. Tasks & Responsibilities : Provide design and implementation support to the Banks innovation projects using the Azure Cloud services. This includes: Solution/Software Engineering: Support the design and implementation of the Banks innovation projects using best of breed technologies. Cloud Engineering: Design and implement cloud infrastructure for the innovation projects. Liaise with the colleagues in building a flexible Azure cloud-based sandbox environment which enables the Innovation Hub project teams to iterate and pivot rapidly. DevOps - Adopt automation practices (DevOps/GitOps) to support agile and iterative development as part of the innovation projects. Must haves: Very strong experience in one or multiple programming languages ( Java, Python , Kotlin, Scala) as well as solution design. (*) Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Cloud, Microsoft Azure AD, Azure Resource Management, Azure Subscriptions, Azure IaaS and PaaS services , security hardening of Azure environments/PaaS services. (*) Experience in open-source stack languages. (*) Experience with common Back End frameworks, such as Spring Boot, Node /Express/Koa etc. (*) Experience with continuous implementation and delivery. (*) Interpersonal skills: Self-organised, independent. Good level of English. Collaborative, team player, able to adapt to new project teams. Ability to take accountability for their own work. Nice to have: Fluency with code and deployment management solutions Azure DevOps services. Experience with Single-Page-Application Front End frameworks such as React. Experienced with Git.
