Auxilion are looking to hire a Senior SQL Database Administrator. The role of the Senior SQL Database Administrator is to be responsible for the monitoring and managing all aspects of performance, integrity, and security of several core SQL databases for multiple Customers. The successful applicant will be involved in the planning and maintenance of SQL Server databases, as well as in the troubleshooting various issues on behalf of the Customers. They will take ownership of the entire SQL estate and be responsible for the maintenance of these environments to ensure all databases and Servers are performing optimally. There is also requirements for project work. Expert knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server Database Administration across all SQL Server database platforms and support business critical relational databases of multiple customers of SOC at an enterprise level. Previous commercial SQL DBA experience 8 -10 years Skills Required: Expert knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server Database Administration and Support at an enterprise level for organisation wide, business critical relational databases. (8-10 years) Expert knowledge of SQL Server backup and recovery techniques (native and preferably 3rd party tools). Expert knowledge of designing & managing SQL Server HA technologies such as Failover Clustering, Database Mirroring, Log shipping and AlwaysOn Availability Groups. Proven knowledge in Troubleshooting and Optimising Database Performance and implementation of industry standard best practices. Expert knowledge of managing SQL Servers and databases hosted in Azure. Creation of Design documents (HLD and LLD), Architectural Design and Build Documents (Implementation), Scope of Work (SOW), Detailed Test Plan (DTP) for database upgrades and migrations. Proven experience in the implementation of various database migration methodologies both On-premises and on Azure platforms. Excellent communication skills and proven stakeholder management experience on all levels. Design of Encryption in Transit and Encryption at Rest solutions for SQL databases. What you get to do in this role: Provide specialist DBA support across all SQL server database platforms for multiple customers in line with architectural standards. Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize query performance and database configurations. Installation, administration, and maintenance of multiple SQL Server instances and implement best practices. Act as primary incident contact for escalated customer enquiries. Mentor and guide junior members of the team. Participate in projects related to database upgrades and migrations for end customers. Pro-actively identify productivity opportunities. Create design documents and build of new systems, including high-availability and disaster recovery solutions. Build and maintain relationships with internal and external business stakeholders. Participate in all pre-sales and post-sales technical aspects of customer engagement, including hands-on proof-of-concept, pilot, and full-scale implementation, as when required.
