Network Manager Location: Bristol Salary: DOE Contract: Full-Time/Permanent .*About the Role* We are seeking an experienced and proactive Network Manager to lead the IT infrastructure and support team within a dynamic and diverse school environment. Reporting to senior leadership, you will be responsible for the development, maintenance, and security of both on-site and cloud-based IT systems, ensuring optimal performance and user experience across the school community. .*Key Responsibilities* .*IT Strategy, Planning & Leadership* - Collaborate with senior leadership and external IT teams to develop and implement a strategic IT roadmap aligned with the school's evolving needs. - Lead and manage the IT support team, providing guidance, escalation support, and professional development. - Oversee IT budgets, procurement, and asset management, ensuring best value and compliance with procurement policies. - Identify opportunities for technology-led improvements in teaching, learning, and school operations. .Network & Systems Management* - Maintain and develop a secure, high-performance IT infrastructure, including network, Servers, cloud platforms, and cybersecurity systems. - Administer Active Directory, Group Policy, and Windows/Linux server environments. - Manage virtual server infrastructure, ensuring reliability and scalability. - Oversee the deployment, maintenance, and security of key school applications, including MIS systems, Office 365, and cloud-based services. - Ensure regular updates, patching, and backups to minimise vulnerabilities and downtime. .*Cybersecurity & Data Protection* - Implement and maintain robust cybersecurity measures, including Firewalls, endpoint protection, and network monitoring. - Support GDPR compliance by managing data protection policies, investigating potential breaches, and ensuring best practices in data security. - Maintain Internet filtering and access controls to safeguard staff and students. .*Technical Support & Troubleshooting* - Serve as a point of escalation for complex IT issues, providing expert guidance and resolutions. - Oversee the configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of essential IT services, including VoIP, CCTV, door access, and building management systems. - Work closely with external IT providers to ensure effective service delivery and support. .*Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity* - Maintain and regularly test backup and disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity in the event of system failures or cyber incidents. - Ensure seamless integration between on-premises and cloud environments, supporting hybrid infrastructure models. .*Automation & Scripting* - Develop and implement automated processes using PowerShell, Batch, and other Scripting languages to improve efficiency. - Manage Office 365 and Azure services, ensuring smooth integration and optimal performance.
