Our client, a leading global technology and IT services organisation, is seeking a talented and motivated IT Team Leader to establish and manage a new 2nd/3rd line support function at a key MoD site in Faslane. About the Role: This is a hands-on leadership role where you will be instrumental in building a high-performing team from the ground up. You will blend your technical expertise with your leadership abilities to ensure the smooth operation and support of essential training systems. Key Responsibilities: Build & Lead: Recruit, mentor, and manage a new team of 2nd/3rd line support technicians. Technical Expertise: Provide expert 3rd line technical support and troubleshooting for complex infrastructure issues across Legacy and future training systems. Process Development: Create, implement, and refine support processes and documentation to ensure efficient service delivery and meet strict KPIs/PIs. Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a key point of contact for the customer, providing guidance, ensuring contractual obligations are met, and maintaining high levels of satisfaction. Collaboration: Work effectively with remote technical teams across the UK to ensure cohesive support. System Support: Contribute to system installations, document reviews, and potentially engage in project work. What You'll Bring (Essential Skills & Experience): Must hold or be eligible and willing to undergo UK Developed Vetting (DV) clearance. Proven experience in a 3rd Line IT Infrastructure Support role. Demonstrable Team Lead or supervisory experience within an IT support environment. Strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience with: Virtualisation (specifically VMware vSphere) Storage Area Networks (specifically NetApp) Microsoft Windows Server (ideally 2019) Networking (Cisco and/or Juniper Switches/principles) Security Tools (specifically McAfee suite) Solid understanding of ITIL processes. Excellent communication, leadership, and mentoring skills. Ability to create clear technical documentation and processes. Customer-focused mindset. Desirable Skills: Experience with Splunk. Experience supporting Microsoft Windows 10 environments. Knowledge of Active Directory and SharePoint. Familiarity with military security protocols, Protected Document Registers (PDR), or Joint Service Publications (JSPs). What's On Offer: Competitive salary (£50,000 - £55,000).
