Role: Cisco Voice Engineer - SC cleared Location: South Wales (On Site) IR35: Inside IR35 Contract Length: 9 Months This is with one of our Defense clients and will be responsible for designing, building, integrating and delivering the system architecture and voice architecture on a larger programme. Must Haves: UK SC clearance and Eligible for NATO SC clearance Knowledge and administration of Back End Video Conferencing platforms. Vertex IT Solutions are looking for experienced Wintel Engineers who hold valid DV Clearance Valid DV Clearance required for this role Location: Stevenage - 3 days on site - Hybrid working End date: 2-5 Months - Various Vacancies Inside IR35 Role and Responsibilities: Wintel Server implementation and deployment (2012Rx/2016) on physical hardware and virtual infrastructure. Ensure smooth handover of implemented systems into ongoing support, participating in relevant processes. Assist and advise in troubleshooting technical issues when required. Participate in implementation and migration activities, providing direction and support to other project team members, including less experienced SME s, when required. Plan and undertake changes to software/hardware as agreed with the customer/project. Assess user requirements and formulate technical specifications that are cost effective and accurately meet the identified needs of the customer. Install and test operating software and associated products in conjunction with application providers to ensure that each element of a project performs to specification. Contribute to the implementation of new and modified systems in conjunction with clients to achieve identified benefits. Implement and maintain a standard methodology for the planning and installation of infrastructure. Work with the TAs and service line teams to ensure solutions meet requirements, are supportable and to the approved standards. Prepare and produce high quality design, systems documentation, and delivery plans in accordance with current client processes and standards. Incorporating specialist knowledge as required. Ensure that all delivery, development, and maintenance work is undertaken in accordance with ITIL, customer change management process. Effectively monitor specific infrastructure services and identify improvements andpreventative maintenance interventions. Highlight potential project risks and partake in lessons learnt exercises. Liaise with 3rd Party suppliers and other partners when and where required to meet Customer requirements. Regular reporting to TA(s), Project Manager(s), Service Delivery Manager(s) as appropriate. Technical quality control and assurance. Be prepared to learn, in depth, new technologies. Submit and champion new ideas. Maintain up to date awareness of developments in the IT industry. Technical skills: Essential/Minimum Criteria: Previous Wintel project experience including infrastructure implementation, deployment and migration. Excellent understanding of Windows infrastructures (including 2012Rx, 2016 and 2019). Preferable good understanding of external Cloud provided options (GCS, AWS, Azure). Excellent knowledge of Active Directory. Experience of deploying virtualised infrastructure (VMware, VxRail, Hyper-V, Xenservers and Cloud technologies). Experience of migrations tools (Platespin, Nutanix, Doubletake and HCX). Good knowledge of networks and storage. Experience of enterprise scale infrastructure transition and transformation projects. We are recruiting for a SC or DV Cleared Network Engineer to be based on site in the Newport office on contract Current DV Clearance preferred. Description The Network Service Engineer provides service and support capabilities on a through life basis from solution concept, through development into live service delivery and then close down. The Network Service Engineer is responsible for providing technical assistance and solutions to users and customers via the service desk and providing an interface to other technical stakeholders; including subcontractors. To achieve this, the role is responsible for delivering technical service skills in accordance with defined scripts and processes to resolve incidents. Direct engagement with stakeholder communities including user groups necessitates the role to be responsible for the performance of the operational service elements that are delivered. Tasks The role holder is required to deliver technical service solutions as a response to customer raised incidents and problems. This will require a strong focus on organising, delivering, monitoring and controlling elements within the delivery of services and the opportunity for participating in continuous service improvement initiatives. Additionally, the understanding and contribution to the delivery and analysis of service reporting including tracking of KPI's & SLA's is a key activity. Operating within the service desk environment, sometimes on a customer site, the role is responsible for the delivery of contact management and as such, it is critical that communication is fluent and concise to assist users in resolving incidents. The key responsibilities of the role are: To provide resolution to service incidents and problems, applying diagnosis and maintenance activities.
