Senior Python Developer - Python, Java, Django, Flask, AWS, S3, Lambda, Step Functions, Investment Management, Portfolio Management, IBOR, Simcorp

A Senior Python Developer with a background in either Investment Management or Investment Banking is sought after by a global Tier 1 Investment Manager based in the City of London.

The role will join a brand-new team currently being stood up to work on the build of a greenfield Investment Book of Records platform, which will involve decommissioning a Legacy platform and integrating the new system with Simcorp Dimension.

The platform will be fully AWS Cloud-Native and will also include a separate strategic service which will hold both ongoing and historic transactions to be easily accessible by Portfolio Managers, Corporate Action Teams and Reconciliations.

As a Senior Engineer, you will act as a Technical Lead for the team, driving development of both the new platform and associated AWS infrastructure, whilst also acting as a mentor/coach for more junior colleagues.

To be successful, you will demonstrate:

• Strong hands-on development skills in Python, having previously worked on enterprise financial systems that manage and process large data volumes
• Excellent experience working with AWS cloud infrastructure, particularly Lambda, S3 Buckets, Step Functions, Kinesis and ideally being certified
• Ideally some understanding of Java development
• A background in Investment Management or Investment Banking, preferably having worked on a similar book of record or accounting platform, with experience engaging directly with Traders, Portfolio Managers etc.
• Ideally an understanding of Identity Access Management and Single-Sign on
• Any experience in Simcorp Dimension or similar IBOR tools is highly beneficial
• Proven ability in mentoring and guiding Junior Engineers
