We re building a high-performance engineering team that values speed, innovation, and great customer experiences. We re looking for a Technical Lead to take ownership of our embedded software platform, drive technical decisions, and help scale our team.

As the Technical Lead Embedded Systems, you ll be the key technical authority for Xilica s embedded Linux-based product platform. You ll work hands-on with Yocto, C/C++, and real-time performance optimization, while also mentoring a team of engineers and helping to define best practices.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll balance technical execution, architecture, and team mentorship to help us move fast and deliver high-quality solutions.

• Lead the development of Xilica s embedded software platform, ensuring high performance and reliability.
• Hands-on coding (>60% of time) in C/C++, Linux Yocto system development.
• Architect embedded software solutions with a focus on real-time performance, system reliability, and connectivity.
• Guide integration with front-end and cloud services, working with the broader engineering team.
• Mentor and grow engineers, establishing best practices for embedded and cloud development.
• Define and enforce technical standards, with a primary focus on development best practices such as effective CI/CD pipelines, testing strategies and system security.
• Collaborate closely with product management and leadership to align engineering execution with business goals.

• 5+ years of experience in embedded Linux development, including Yocto, build systems, and low-level optimization.
• Strong C/C++ skills, with experience in real-time performance tuning, device drivers, and system architecture.
• Proven leadership experience, either as a Tech Lead, Lead Engineer, or Principal Engineer.
• Excellent communication skills able to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with connected embedded devices (IoT, networked systems, edge computing, etc.).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, iterative development environment.

• Bias towards action, experimentation, and execution Proactively identifies and implements solutions, iterates quickly, and drives development forward with a focus on delivering results.

• Experience with networked audio, AV-over-IP, or real-time media processing (Dante, AES67, h.264).
• Familiarity with Rust or Go for embedded or cloud services, as well as Kubernetes and Docker for containerization
• Background in security best practices for connected devices.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing for embedded systems.
