Solaris System Administrator

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Solaris System Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Oracle (Sparc)/Solaris (V10/11) administration and a strong background in managing clustering environments. The role also requires a good working knowledge of AWS and experience with orchestration and automation tools such as Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Chef, Puppet, and Ansible.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain Oracle (Sparc)/Solaris (V10/11) environments
• Administer and optimize Solaris clustering configurations for high availability
• Implement and support AWS cloud services, ensuring integration with Solaris-based systems
• Utilize automation and orchestration tools to streamline deployment, configuration, and system management
• Troubleshoot system performance, security, and reliability issues
• Work closely with development and operations teams to ensure smooth system performance
• Maintain compliance with security policies and best practices

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong hands-on experience with Oracle (Sparc)/Solaris (V10/11) administration
• Expertise in managing clustering and high-availability configurations
• Good knowledge of AWS cloud services and integration with on-prem Solaris environments
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation tools such as Chef, Puppet, or Ansible
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Experience in system monitoring, security hardening, and patch management
• Excellent communication and documentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Solaris certification is a plus
• Experience in hybrid cloud environments
• Scripting knowledge (eg, Shell, Python, Perl) for automation
