Job Title: CaaS Engineer - VMware NFV/RedHat - Hybrid
Location: Paddington/Reading - When required (should be prepared to go in once a week but only if needed)
Salary/Rate: Up to £600 a day Inside IR35
Start Date: February
Job Type: 6-month contract (with scope to extend to 18 months)

Company Introduction

We are looking for an experienced CaaS Engineer to join our client in the Telecommunication industry.

You will partner with In-Life Operations to automate and build out products to meet the strategies and prioritized road maps for the core infrastructure on which the businesses run.

As part of the product engineering team in Telco Cloud, you will help the organization to move towards a more product-focused approach.

You will work with our technical and highly dynamic teams to drive an outsized impact on software engineering.

Required Skills/Experience

• VMware - VIO, vSphere 7, vSAN, NSX-T, Tanzu TKG-M and vROPS
• Networking - Network Routers & Switches
• Cloud Technologies - Redhat for cloud & OpenShift (any version of Redhat is fine).
• Linux - Opensource
• RedHat experience (RedHat for Cloud)
• Containers - Kubernetes
• Understanding of how a current estate to a new network
• Network Security experience working with Routers, Switches and ORAN
• Strong understanding of the Telecoms Security Act (TSA) to ensure full TSA compliance.
• Must be able to understand how something is implemented and what parameters there are.
• Be comfortable challenging tenants about the application and understand what they need compared to what they are asking for.
• Be able to perform the full design of the Application as well as the implementation for it.
• Act as 3rd Line Support when needed and be able to carry out life cycle events.

Job Responsibilities/Objectives

• Partner with the organisation's customers (engineering teams), to better understand their requirements, problems and work together to deliver needed solutions in the best manner and aligned to IaaS patterns, security and networking principals.
• Reinforce consistency and coherence across all designs and identify areas for improvements. Develop solutions which will evolve with the business direction.
• Work with the automation and build teams to develop automation and create the automated BAU change catalogue.
• Ensure that delivers can not only be built through automation but scales and flexes inline.
• Build and maintain documentation for the design that enables teams to use the design repeatably.
• Schedule automated changes into the In Life Operations team working to the companies' objectives, scenario prioritisation, and customer requirements.
• Partner with other product managers and engineering teams to create cohesive strategies and roadmaps across organisational boundaries.
• Foster an environment that is customer-focused, data-driven, and hypothesis/experimentation based.
• Own the engagement with our Telco Cloud internal partners.
• Help evolve the automated Cloud management discipline and practices within Telco Cloud.
