Project Manager - Financial Services

Project Manager required by a large global financial services firm to take full ownership of one or more workstreams within a large Transformation Program, ensuring successful execution. This high-impact role requires a take-charge, detail-driven leader who thrives on structure and precision. The Project Manager will be the driving force behind workstream success, proactively managing all moving parts, enforcing accountability, and ensuring seamless execution. This role demands a hands-on approach, with a strong focus on micro-managing deliverables, tracking progress, and mitigating risks to meet transformation objectives.

Note: Location can be anywhere in CST and EST time zones - the position allows for the worker to be virtual/remote.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and drive the execution of assigned workstream(s).
  • Micro-manage deliverables, dependencies, and risks to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and accountability matrices.
  • Act as the single point of contact for all stakeholders within the workstream.
  • Proactively identify, escalate, and mitigate risks.
  • Ensure that all deliverables meet high-quality standards.
  • Provide clear, concise, and structured reporting to the Program Lead, highlighting progress, roadblocks, and financial considerations.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, ensuring seamless integration between business, operations, and technology.
  • Drive high quality project governance, risk and issue management.
  • Co-ordinate internal resources, on and offshore, for the execution of the project delivery plans.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Extensive experience in senior-level project management, preferably in business transformation, consulting, or corporate strategy.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple complex workstreams and sub-projects.
  • Proven ability to micro-manage teams and deliverables while maintaining a strong leadership presence.
  • Strong understanding of business operations, process improvements, and technology implementation.
  • Excellent executive-level communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience working in high-pressure, fast-paced transformation environments.
  • PMP certification or Agile/Scrum experience is a strong plus.
