Hybrid Data Engineer

Working as a freelancer with our globally renowned client, you will contribute to a major data transformation project, working on building data products within the Data Mesh concept. This will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams, optimizing and supporting data products, and applying DevOps principles to ensure scalability, security, and performance.

Minimum mandatory experience:

• Minimum 5+ years of GCP data engineering with knowledge of cloud infrastructure.
• Experience with DBT, BigQuery
• Familiarity with Parquet, Avro
• SQL
• Python, Java, Scala
• Data modelling techniques and their trade-offs.
• NoSQL and RDBMS databases.

Additional Skills:

• Retail/FMCG/Ecom industry knowledge

Key Responsibilities:

• Take end-to-end ownership of building, optimizing, and supporting new and existing data products.
• Champion DevOps principles and manage CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure, primarily on GCP.
• Ensure data products meet non-functional requirements for security, scalability, and performance.
• Collaborate closely with the Product Manager and stakeholders to shape product vision and identify opportunities for new data products.
• Engage with teams across and outside the domain on data mesh topics.
• Drive continuous improvement and reduce technical debt within teams.
• Stay up to date with the latest data, analytics, and cloud technologies.
