Role: ServiceNow ITOM Technical Architect
Location: Hybrid 1-2 days per week in the office (Middlesex Street, London) and occasional visit(s) to client site.
Duration: 8 Weeks
Key Essential Skills:
- 5+ years comprehensive understanding and practical experience with ServiceNow Discovery and Event Management.
- Hands-on experience with ServiceNow ITOM implementations and deep understanding of CMDB Architecture.
- Expertise in designing, deploying, and managing ServiceNow Discovery solutions for both on-premises and cloud environments (eg, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Strong ability to define, configure, and manage critical infrastructure components, including schedules, credentials, and mid-Servers.
- Expert understanding of import sets, transform maps, and ServiceNow data mapping for external data sources.
- Advanced troubleshooting skills for resolving issues related to Service Mapping, including credential requirements, permissions, and connectivity.
Desirable Skills:
- Ability to develop and monitor Service Mapping health reports and dashboards.
- Familiarity with event and alert rule configurations to improve system reliability.
- Knowledge of web application development for effective service map pattern creation.
- Experience with APIs for public and private cloud platforms, including AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
- Good understanding of ServiceNow CMDB Classes and their relationships for Assets and Configurations.
- Familiarity with industry-standard communication protocols such as HTTP, TCP, SNMP, SOAP, and REST.
Overview:
We are working with our client, a large global insurance firm, to implement ServiceNow discovery cloud and on prem. Currently, the client has Discovery enabled and attempted to map services internally. However, they have struggled with this and need assistance in discovery implementation and guidance on aws and azure. The aim is to get the client to see how effective we are with ITOM and use their cmdb data which is very mature.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Help design the CMDB data model for those CIs that require certification detail to be discovered.
- Code and Develop customised Patterns, Probes and Sensors for Discovery to update the current discovery to populate the certification data for CIs
- Sound knowledge of CMDB and its operation management
- Deep dive into current CMDB within Assyst and help customer understand the transition from the old tool set into ServiceNow.
- Create Service Mapping process documentation to guide the customer on how they should implement this in the next tranche of work.
- Good understanding of certification management discovery within ServiceNow
- Assist in creating a plan with the Engagement Lead on how the discovery will be built and what steps need to be taken.
