Data Engineer

Are you an experienced Data Engineer interested in solving complex data challenges for a leading international hedge fund in Vienna? Do you have strong Python and SQL skills coupled with a background in solving real business challenges and an interest in learning about the financial markets? If so this could be the perfect next Data Engineer role for you.

You will be joining a data engineering team that is distributed across New York and Vienna. The team are responsible for supporting all areas of the fund including Research, Operations and Trading taking care of 3 main components. Improving the quality and speed of data delivery by building the data infrastructure. Building strategies to understand what business users want and how they understand data and finally production support for the data pipelines.

Technically the team develop with both Python and SQL, Docker and Kubernetes are used for CI/CD, Redis for caching, the core database is Postgres and they also use gRPC.

Although prior experience in the financial markets is desirable rather than essential, any Data Engineers that have knowledge of Futures, Options, Commodities or FX or have specifically worked in a hedge fund before will receive preferential treatment.
