Our client in The Netherlands, is looking to hire an SAP Basis Administrator to join their inhouse team. The client has their own software which runs on SAP. Their client portfolio includes complex multinationals such as Bayer, DSM, YARA, Nestle Springer, Exon Mobil, BP, Fuji Film, Whirlpool. Their software ensures that each transaction in the client company is correctly, completely, and compliantly taxed, ensuring that each transaction tax is filed with correct authorities in each jurisdiction.

As their clients move from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA they need to contend with decades of technical debt around tax determination around their indirect taxes and transfer pricing scenarios that accrued due to the technical code becoming too complex to maintain and giving rise to potential liabilities.

When engaging a client implementation, our client initiates and transports complex process automation tools into the client SAP-landscape. This requires understanding of the client landscape, security and access methods, connection points, problem analysis, debugging and bug fixing - in order to succeed implementing and updating the tax engine.
In support of this, they are recruiting an experienced SAP Basis Administrator.

Requirements
. 5+ years of experience in SAP Basis administration, with exposure to various SAP modules (ECC, S/4HANA, BW, etc.).
. Strong knowledge of SAP system installations, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
. Proficiency in database management (Oracle, SAP HANA, or SQL Server) and OS administration (Linux, Windows).
. Familiarity with SAP Transport Management System (TMS) and Change and Transport System (CTS).
. Understanding of SAP authorization and security concepts.
. Knowledge of SAP HANA administration (preferred).

Responsibilities
SAP Basis Administration:
. Install, configure, and maintain SAP systems (ECC, S/4HANA, BW, PI, Solution Manager, etc.) across sandbox, development, test, and production landscapes.
. Perform regular health checks, proactive monitoring, and apply tuning techniques for optimal system performance.
. Manage and troubleshoot SAP instances, profiles, and system parameters.

Database & OS Management:
. Handle SAP databases, including backup, recovery, and restoration procedures.
. Optimize database performance and ensure the integrity of SAP data.
. Oversee OS-level administration tasks for SAP systems, including user management, permissions, and performance tuning.

Transport Management:
. Manage and administer the SAP transport landscape and ensure successful transport migration across the SAP environment.
. Oversee transport requests, corrections, and deployment of changes to SAP systems.

System Upgrades and Patch Management:
. Conduct system upgrades, enhancement pack installations, and patch applications.
. Review and apply SAP OSS notes and implement SAP Kernel upgrades as required.

Authorization and Security Management:
. Administer user roles and authorizations, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and security standards.
. Troubleshoot and resolve authorization issues.

SAP HANA Administration:
. Support SAP HANA databases, including administration, backup, recovery, and performance monitoring.
. Conduct HANA database tuning and provide HANA-specific support and troubleshooting.

Backup and Disaster Recovery:
. Design and maintain SAP backup and disaster recovery strategies.
. Ensure systems and data are recoverable and test recovery procedures regularly.
