Palo Alto Engineer - 12 Month Contract - Hybrid (Dublin) - Outside IR35

Hamilton Barnes is looking for a highly skilled Palo Alto Engineer to join the dynamic team of a leading consultancy in Dublin. You will play a key role in delivering essential network security services for a high profile client.

This hybrid role requires two days per week working in a Dublin office, providing flexibility while ensuring collaboration with key stakeholders. The role has also been signed off outside IR35.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deploy and configure Palo Alto Firewalls.
• Implement security policies, rules, and configurations in line with security standards.
• Monitor Firewall traffic and logs using Palo Alto's monitoring tools (eg, Panorama).
• Troubleshoot and resolve Firewall-related incidents, performing root-cause analysis.
• Define and enforce security policies using next-gen features like App-ID and User-ID.
• Apply threat prevention tools to block malware and exploits.
• Integrate Firewalls with security tools (eg, SIEM, VPNs), and automate tasks using APIs.
• Maintain detailed documentation on Firewall configurations, change management processes, and incident reports.

What You Will Ideally Bring:

• Proficient in deploying and managing Palo Alto Firewalls (eg, PA-series).
• Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF) and concepts like NAT, VPN, VLAN, and routing.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity threats (eg, malware, DDoS, APTs) and how to mitigate them using Firewall policies.
• Experience with Scripting languages (eg, Python) and Palo Alto APIs for automation.
• Ability to diagnose complex network security issues, analyze Firewall logs, and respond to incidents.
• Hands-on experience working with Palo Alto products in a network or security engineering capacity.
• Strong communication skills.
• Palo Alto Certifications (Nice to Have).

Contract Details:

• Duration: 12 months (View for Extension)
• Day Rate: £350 Per Day (Outside IR35)
• Location: Dublin 2x Per Week (Hybrid)
• Start Date: ASAP
