Job Summary Provide technical support in the Engineering Services department for the Salem Power Uprate Project. The successful candidate will perform the duties as a Lead Responsible Engineer (LRE) for modifications needed to support the power uprate for Salem Units 1 and 2. An LRE is responsible for determining solutions, and then managing resources needed to prepare the applicable design deliverables.
Job Responsibilities • Qualify for and fulfill the LRE role for the power uprate plant modifications and be accountable for the design cradle to grave .
• Establish modification scope, system performance requirements, and all testing requirements.
• Perform Owners Acceptance Reviews for design analysis, modification packages, procurement, and specifications in accordance with plant procedures.
• Manage technical supplier teams with respect to cost, schedule, and quality.
• Schedule and coordinate Engineering and station department resources to deliver and install required design change packages.
• Interface with Project Manager to ensure that Engineering deliverables meet the overall project goals.
• Provide field support during modification walkdowns, installation, testing and as-built verification.
• Comply with regulatory requirements including 50.59, License Amendment Request preparation and any required supporting analysis.
• Perform other assigned duties as determined by the Electrical Design Engineering Manager.
• Assigned duties in the Emergency Response Organization
Job Specific Qualifications Required: • BS Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Controls or related Engineering or related technical degree.
• 13 years experience performing related Engineering work in a nuclear power plant.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in controls / digital design engineering
• Familiarity with programmable logic controllers, analog/pneumatic control loops, and digital data collection systems (e.g., Emerson Ovation, RSLogix, PI Process).
• Work effectively with a team to achieve team goals.
• Independently multi-task and resolve conflicting priorities.
• Excellent written & oral communication skills
• Availability for shift work during installation.
• Must meet Nuclear requirements for unescorted plant access.
• Must possess a valid US driver's license and maintain a satisfactory driving record.
Desired:
• Power uprate experience at a pressurized water reactor (PWR)
• Prior Design Engineering configuration control qualification
• Professional Engineering license (NJ or other state)
