The application is developed solely in Kotlin, with advanced Kotlin features like coroutines or Kotlin flow. From our experience, we feel it would take months for candidates w/limited Kotlin exposure to get up to speed, so Kotlin experience is an absolute must have for this role.

The Software Engineer has the skills to develop large and/or complex programs, incl. design, coding and testing. As part of test responsibilities, the Software Engineer defines and creates test cases, executes test activities and reports on progress.

Responsibilities

Design and develop the components of a highly performant, highly available energy trading platform.
Work with your team to on-board new technologies and pushing significant changes and initiatives within your product.
Take initiative: work with your team to select the correct technologies, tools, and approach to meet our goals.
Collaborate with peers and stakeholders to refine, analyse, and validate requirements.
Identify solutions and develop them from their initial design stage all the way through to production.

Mandatory Skills

Experience developing with Kotlin and Java
Experience building container-ready applications, and using containerization technologies (K8s, Docker)
General knowledge of SQL databases and Java ORM frameworks
Understanding of modern practices in automated testing
Strong aptitude using modern development tools for build, version control, etc. (Git, Gradle)
Full competence working in Linux environments
