Senior Network Engineer - Luton

Onsite work - Salary up to £65,000

Senior Network Engineer required for a leading client based in Luton.

My client is currently seeking a Senior Network Engineer for the IT Infrastructure team, your main responsibility is to ensure the smooth operation of the clients network systems.

You'll actively monitor the network infrastructure, promptly address any issues or anomalies, and play a crucial role in detecting and responding to network-related events and incidents. Additionally, you'll contribute to infrastructure enhancement projects, which may involve tasks like network design, equipment configuration, performance optimization, and maintaining compliance with industry standards.

• Strong Network experience
• Previous experience in dedicated network engineering roles, including expertise in maintaining, designing, programming, implementing, migrating, and replacing network infrastructure.
• Proficient in troubleshooting LAN and WAN infrastructure within corporate environments, working with platforms like HPE, Aruba, Dell, and Palo Alto products.
• Monitoring and Security: Hands-on experience with network and system monitoring solutions.
• Strong understanding of network security threats, best practices, and equipment implementation (Firewalls, access control, security protocols).
• Enterprise Networks: Advanced knowledge of enterprise campus networks, Firewall platforms, WAN technologies, network management, monitoring, and packet capture techniques.
• Structured Approach: Well-organized work planning, adaptability to changing priorities, and effective task allocation.
• Investigation and Communication: Strong investigation and analysis skills for IT logs and event sources.
• Excellent teamwork and communication, customer-service-oriented.
• Continuous Learning: Self-motivated to advance knowledge, gain formal qualifications, and stay updated with industry trends.
• Infrastructure Experience: Familiarity with network infrastructure rollout and firmware upgrades.

Technical Competencies

• Excellent knowledge of network technologies (OSPF, MPLS, VXLAN, IPSEC, VLAN, STP, VTP, VRRP, WAN, DHCP, switching, SD-WAN).
• Competency in administering Firewalls and managing corporate wireless networks.
• Certifications and Permits: Holds certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+ or equivalent real-world experience.
• Eligible to work in the UK and willing to undergo security clearances.
