Data Engineer vacancy requiring profound knowledge in Cloudera and Hadoop or Hive for a globally operating Basel based company in the financial sector.

Your tasks:

• Contributing to implementation tasks in data management and analytics projects using big data and relational databases as well as analytical technologies
• Creating code for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and 'big data' technologies
• Translating, loading and presenting disparate datasets in multiple sources including JSON
• Supporting in overall data architecture and the design of Big Data and Advance Analytics solutions
• Developing, implementing, testing and maintaining data management and processing systems by integrating a variety of programming languages and tools together
• Building end-to-end data pipelines while also defining the database structure, applying business rules and functional capabilities, security and data retention requirements

Your experience/knowledge:

• Practical experience in building data ingestion pipelines for data warehouse or data lake architecture
• Proficiency in Datamodelling, design patterns and building highly scalable applications
• Expertise in developing with open-source data technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, Spark, HBase, Kafka, Impala, ELK, or preferably with Cloudera
• Well-versed with at least one major programming language like C#, Python or Java
• Familiarity with relational SQL and NoSQL databases like SQL Server, Sybase IQ or Postgres
• A thorough understanding of CICD pipelines and agile methodologies like Scrum and Kanban
• Language skills: English - fluent in written and spoken, German conversational
