This is a new position, created in order to help to develop internal software and to continue to modernise their cloud and data services. Sitting within a team of roughly 50 Software Developers, you will report into the Head of Architecture and will be involved in making a number of "nitty gritty" decisions. You will be working across a widespread number of projects and these will all involve modernising and improving the software environment. The company look for some presence in office (1 or 2 days a week), but there is flex on the days. The role: This is an Architect role with a predominant HANDS-OFF focus, although it is likely you will be from a Front End Developer background. You will be the Architect setting standards and will effectively be the Lead and decision maker on FE technologies. In this particular team, you will come in to review and audit everything web related, from architecture to technologies to strategy. You will need to be comfortable working across different team members and have strong stakeholder management skills. Working closely alongside the product team and potentially having a strong product background would be highly beneficial in this role. You will work weekly with Web Developers (predominantly React) and will have an open forum in order to remove potential blockers for the team. The teams work across an abundance of technology, and this role is for someone with a strong Web focus and ideally React, in particular. The general tech stack is as below: * React and Next.js * TypeScript, JavaScript * Some Kubernetes Key Skills and Responsibilities: * A few years working as an Architect, with a previous focus on Web and Front End technologies * Background working with React and Next.js * Working within a product environment (ideally, but others such as consultancy also considered) * Knowledge in areas such as accessibility and optimisation * Knowledge on how to deploy automation * Agile (Scrum/Kanban) background * Strong technical delivery and coding background (code reviews, peer programming, Architecture and Design) This is an opportunity to work with a thriving and employee-first organisation.
