My client, a leading multinational defence company, are currently seeking a senior engineer/systems engineer to join the business in a permanent capacity. The role is based out of my client's secure site in New Malden. - with the requirement to attend site 2-3 days a week. Due to the nature of my clients work, candidates must either hold a live SC Clearance or be willing and able to undergo the clearance process. Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities: Provide SME level advice and consultancy on solution design, critical problem areas, training and related areas Design, build, configuration and test of Infrastructure/Systems Build for operations, implement/administer/configuration systems and hardware that are consistently stable, reliable and requirements. Learn the Production Integration Process and assume responsibilities for ensuring a smooth transition for relevant Systems from development to production. Working proactively to ensure problems do not occur through monitoring and optimising performance. Liaise with various other Systems teams to create appropriate knowledge Advanced skills: Knowledge of server Operating Systems (Windows, Linux, Unix etc) Knowledge of VMWARE and Virtualisation technologies (VMware Horizon, Citrix Xen Desktop) Knowledge of SAN and Storage Networks Knowledge of network technologies.
