Solution Architect required to join the Global Architecture Team at a large Financial Services firm which specialises in Insurance, Life and Pensions. This technical, hands on role will see you leading teams of on-shore and off-shore developers, working closely with Business Analysts, Systems Analysts, Developers and Project Managers to deliver investment, accounting and payment solutions to customers globally.
The role involves designing solutions while building a comprehensive understanding of Linux, Unix and Oracle applications, systems and infrastructure across the organisation. You will need to communicate with clients, key stakeholders and development teams on technical solutions, taking a lead on new technical integration projects. You will also provide level 3 technical support on Oracle, UNIX and application issues, as well as installation and configuration of software. You will act as a liaison or primary point of contact for communicating with client side technical expertise and client contacts. You will lead the evolution of company level best practices, standards, and policies as it relates to software development.
You must have extensive Unix/Oracle Database analysis and design experience with knowledge of web concepts and web Servers (eg Apache, Nginx, Open source) and a strong understanding of Waterfall, Agile, Iterative Development, etc.
Highly desirable skills are;
*Language Knowledge - C and/or Pro*C.
*Oracle development database administration experience.
*A strong background in pensions DC market, with a working knowledge of pension payroll processing, payment processing and integration with accounting packages.
*Understanding of performance tuning and Web application security.
*Java containers such as WebLogic/Tomcat.
*Scripting languages eg Python, PHP and Perl.
