Job Title: Data Engineering Solutions Lead Location: Hybrid/Brighton Duration: Permanent Salary: From £70,000 + Benefits Role: The organisation you will be joining are on a fast-paced journey and in recent years has gone through significant technical & business change. In this position, you'll be joining as the Data Engineering Solutions Lead who will work closely with multidisciplinary project teams acting as the technical leader to design and deliver requirements within the data platform solution. You will own all technical aspects of the product road-map, playing a crucial role in the delivery of products. You will be responsible for keeping aware of and responsive to, service chances in the Azure offering, whilst painting the integrity of the solution architecture of the data platform. Responsibilities: You will use your skills to inspire technical designs across the organisation to use the data platform in line with our principles and best practice. Line manage a technical team of 4 ensuring a focus on training, retention of skills in the team, and recruitment of technical experts which will enable the growth and development of the data function Manage the long-term strategy and development of the Data Platform Develop a deep knowledge of our data systems to support enterprise decision making Liaise with product owners and business stakeholders to understand the requirements of the organisation. Accountable for data solution design, technology identification, feasibility, input to scoping, estimating, planning and costing of solutions. Ensure that data pipelines and stores are built to the highest possible standard, and responsible for both functional & non-functional requirements. Ensure ongoing innovation of data systems, introducing new technologies where applicable. Contribute to and challenge budgets to support project requirements for budget, planning, and forecasting. Constructively challenge and influence decisions. Ensure the Data Platform remains in accordance with the IT Strategy, Enterprise, Business, and Data strategy plus Government IT Strategy Perform periodic reviews of existing data platform application architecture/services and propose remedial or improvement plans where appropriate. Requirements: Deep understanding of Azure as a data platform.
