OT ICS Software Engineer Salary: Competitive (plus Company car) Hours: 37 Hours (Monday to Friday) plus standby Location: Walsall with some travel to Cambridge At South Staffs Water we deliver a clean, safe and reliable water supply to over 1.8 million customers every day. We re committed to providing our customers with high quality water, exceptional service and great value for money. We have an excellent opportunity within our Operational Technology (OT) department for a self-motivated individual, with the ability to develop and interpret technical information, who can adopt a creative approach to problem solving without support from others. As a member of our team of ICS/ICA engineers, you will help support and maintain assets used to control and monitor water supply systems, machinery and processes across a wide range of water production, distribution and storage facilities - while ensuring regulatory compliance at all times. Specifically, you will be responsible for PLC, HMI and SCADA system design, software development, associated documentation and overall quality assurance of new and existing systems. You will have excellent organisational and communication skills, be comfortable working on your own or as part of a team and have a dedicated approach to working towards and meeting deadlines. Educated to HNC or equivalent/higher level, we are looking for someone with a strong ICS background, proven software engineering experience. You will be confident with proven interpersonal and communication skills and be capable of managing a challenging workload subject to change at short notice. Experience of Allen Bradley and or Mitsubishi PLCs would be advantageous. Applicants with experience of working in the water industry or the utilities sector is desired however experienced engineers from other sectors will be considered.
