WA Consultants is currently recruiting for an experienced Plant Manager for an established drywall manufacturer based in the Middle East. Job Summary: Achieve or exceed budgeted business results and provide for the future possible profitable growth of plant operations - through optimum planning, organisation, direction, and control of assigned Plant resources. Manage the plant functions of quality manufacturing process, pre/post-production, and maintenance. Ensure and maintain the welfare of plant human capital and assets through administrative services designed to facilitate the optimum development and control of human resources gaudiness and talent retention. Effective Reporting to Senior Management. Key Duties: Planning: Develop and obtain approval for the plant facilities, manning, and budget needed to meet current requirements and provide for future needs, effectively and economically. Run material requirement planning (MRP) together with purchasing, by using the following inputs: Sales Forecast, Minimum Stocks, Average Consumption's, Quality, shelf life, alternative materials, Costs and price, and Delivery and consumption schedules. Ensure the sound condition of all plant material assets and minimise downtime through timely and effective preventive maintenance. Repair existing equipment, install new equipment, and maintain the highest standards of housekeeping and safety within corporate procedures and standards. Ensure achievement of production plans vs budget, qty output and yield and OEE KPIs. Cost monitoring and ensuring cost effective production in all aspects vs plans. Implementation: Ensure the optimum deployment of assigned resources and the agreement with subordinates of clear accountabilities and objectives. Ensure the timely and economic achievement of production objectives and standards, by effective monitoring of progress against plans and budget and prompt action to correct shortcomings. Ensure that productivity is maximised by use of efficient working practices and co-ordinate use of resources. Verify with manufacturing team that adequate raw material is available to achieve maximum inventory turns. Ensures that all safety equipment and facilities are kept in optimum working condition by implementing inspection and preventive maintenance programs and associated procedures, setting up efficient records-keeping systems for all equipment, and recommending the replacement of faulty equipment. Also observes and cautions employees on dangerous situations or practices and ensures prescribed safety gear is worn, reporting infractions to responsible supervisors. Cost Optimisation: Seek continuous cost improvement by the stringent control of all cost elements to maintain most competitive product cost in our industry and our market. Maximise the cost-effectiveness of production operations through sound planning (joint effort), efficient operation of machines, and minimum overtime. Minimise waste through the effective use of monitoring and control procedures and ensure its proper disposal. Procedures and Standards: Uphold manufacturing quality standards by ensuring the effective control of key parameters against corporate procedures and standards. Actively promote improvement in producing quality products through weekly/monthly meetings with Operators/Workers. Continually seek improvements in processes, methods, and techniques to ensure optimum productivity. Safeguard people, plants, and equipment/assets by insisting on the proper use of safety procedures. Uphold operational effectiveness and safeguard management continuity through collaboration with HR for recruitment, training, and development of subordinates. Ensure that subordinates meet or exceed objectives and targets, cost-effectively, by effectively monitoring of progress against plans and budget and prompt action to correct shortcomings When seeking higher approval for a course of action, ensure that alternative approaches have been thoroughly evaluated and that the optimum is proposed and soundly justified.
