Carer/Personal Assistant - No qualifications required
Direct Payments Coventry, Warwickshire
The Vacancy Headline I require a "weekend" shift carer/Personal Assistant, for live in shifts starting Thursday 6:30pm to 8am Monday Morning. This could be every week, or alternating if two applicants want to split the month. Each Thursday to Monday shift pays £674.18 before Tax, NI and Pension deductions. About the role: I am 41, male and have Muscular Dystrophy, I work and have a busy social life. I require new Personal Assistant(s) to work for me between Thursday 6:30pm and Monday 8am weekly. Your duties will include, but not be limited to: Personal care. Assisting me with my job. Accompanying me on social occasions. Assisting me with practical tasks at home and also at work. General domestic duties, cleaning, cooking, shopping etc. You may be required to accompany me on holidays, as I like to travel and see the world. Essential skills for the role are: A full UK Driving Licence. The ability to be able to socialise with me and my friends. The ability to accompany me to family social occasions. Willingness to spend nights away from my home with me, usually due to work commitments, or social occasions. Fluent spoken English. You may at times have to assist me with my job, but this is unlikely as this shift covers the the days I do not work for a large company. However if you do need to accompany me to my own business work, you should have: The ability to fit in in a busy, professional, smart office A reasonable grasp of technology, particularly iPads as you will be assisting me to demonstrate these with work to professional users. The ability to drive long distances, sometimes my work can take me to any area in the UK. Flexibility to cover other staff shifts if necessary. About Me: I'm 41 years old and lead an active lifestyle. My interests are varied, and I m usually happy to give most things a go! I currently work four days a week for a leading structural engineering company. Additionally, I run my own business and manage a communication aid company during my free day, evenings, and weekends. In my spare time, I enjoy going to the cinema, attending gigs and festivals, and spending time with friends and colleagues. My friends are friendly, welcoming, and always keen to involve my PA in our activities. I also appreciate quieter evenings relaxing at home, enjoying a takeaway and a good film with a bottle of wine. What type of person I'm looking for I m looking for a PA/carer who is comfortable with a role that's sometimes unpredictable, as I often plan things spontaneously. It s quite typical for me to text with a few days notice about a weekend away I love to travel and experience new places. Previous trips with PAs have included New York, London, Paris, Brussels, Italy, and Japan. These adventures aren't everyday occurrences, but it's helpful if you enjoy occasional spontaneity and travel. I'm less concerned about your previous care experience what really matters is that we get along well. We'll likely be spending plenty of time together in various social settings, so compatibility is important. The personal care involved isn't medically complex, and I'll always clearly explain what's needed. As long as you re willing to listen, learn, and approach the role positively, you'll find the tasks straightforward. My key request is that you help maintain my flat to a good standard. I've experienced situations where carers overlooked basic domestic tasks, which are an important part of the role. I'm not excessively fussy, but I genuinely value a tidy, organised home where routine cleaning tasks are regularly completed. If you are interested in the role, enjoy a challenge and would like more information or to apply please click the apply button. I would also request that you include a paragraph or two about yourself, and what you like to do in the email, so I could get a picture of the sort of person I am employing. Please tell me about your hobbies, current situation, what shift pattern you'd like and what you would like to get out of the job and what you think you can bring to the role that will make you stand out against the other applicants? Unfortunately any responses without a CV and information about yourself will not be responded to. Many thanks!
