The Role As an integral member of Ludlum Systems, you will lead the completion of planned maintenance, repairs, and installations of advanced instrumentation across a wide range of sites in the UK. Your role extends beyond technical expertise to providing invaluable support to Ludlum Systems staff as directed by the Service Manager. Key Responsibilities: Operational Excellence: Master a broad portfolio of instruments, offering both reactive and preventative maintenance support, including Waste Monitors, Contamination or Clearance Monitors, Vehicle Monitors, Area Gamma Alarms, Counting Systems, and associated computer and control systems. Align service delivery with Ludlum Systems' business plan, ensuring the completion of all scheduled works to surpass customer expectations and meet KPIs. Exemplify customer service excellence, nurturing relationships and ensuring repeat business through effective upselling and swift, professional resolution of customer concerns or complaints. Provide essential support to Sales and Project teams, contributing to Ludlum Systems' longer-term projects, such as system installation, testing, evaluation, and commissioning. Project Management and Documentation: Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for all systems, ensuring proper archiving and adherence to regulatory requirements. Establish working procedures to guarantee consistently high-quality system implementation and support. Assume ownership of reported issues, driving them to conclusion or appropriate escalation. Safety and Security: Demonstrate a deep understanding of safety responsibilities outlined in the company safety manual and customer safety documents. Comply with local driving regulations at a high standard to minimise incidents and accidents. Promote a safe working environment and promptly report safety occurrences or system failures. Key Performance Indicators: Ensure the delivery of operational key performance indicators defined by your Manager. Financial Awareness: Be cost-aware, striving to consistently provide value. Stakeholder Relationship Management: Interface positively with internal and external stakeholders, actively promoting Ludlum Systems and its parent organisation. Additional Information: Flexibility is key, as individuals may be required to carry out additional duties based on business needs. Maximum operational efficiency requires adaptability, and individuals may be called upon to assist in various areas. Initial Requirements: Ideally, HND educated in Electrical and Electrical Engineering or an equivalent. Full UK Driving License is a prerequisite. UK National with the ability to hold SC Clearance. Understanding of overnight stays away from home, occasional planned weekend work, and overseas travel. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. Electrical awareness and practical skills. Advantageous practical skills include experience with Microsoft Client Operating Systems, exposure to Linux and SQL Databases, PLC Programming, cable termination, low voltage wiring, and fault isolation & resolution. Physics A Level or higher. Minimum 5-year Service and Support background or 3-year nuclear engineering background. Experience in using IT and Business Application systems in association with service provision.
