Role: Service Engineer - 12 Month Contract Salary: £35,000 per annum - £40,000 per annum Location: Birmingham We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Service Engineer to join our client's Industrial Joining Systems & Solutions team in the Electrification & Mobility department. As a Service Engineer, you will be responsible for providing field service support for new and existing equipment (SPR & Stud welding) to valued customers throughout the UK. Additionally, you will play a vital role in supporting the efficient operation of our UK Service Centre workshop. Key Responsibilities: - Directly communicate with end customers, ensuring effective and timely resolution of their queries and concerns. - Conduct fault finding and repair on Tucker SPR and Stud Welding Systems. - Analyze and anticipate potential problems, providing innovative solutions to ensure smooth operations. - Review and monitor equipment issues during project launches. - Ensure compliance with installation and maintenance guidelines for equipment. - Prepare and submit reports to the Site Manager and other relevant stakeholders. - Foster strong relationships between SEF and the customer's maintenance department. - Manage claims within the warranty period. - Identify and recommend "after-sales" opportunities, such as spare part sales or additional service support, to the responsible Customer Manager. - Uphold and adhere to all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) practices of both the customer and SEF. Knowledge, Experience, and Qualifications: - City & Guilds Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering qualification or equivalent - essential. - Minimum of 5 years' experience in the automotive industry engineering environment, preferably in automation technology - desirable. - Strong knowledge in mechanical and/or electronic engineering. - Excellent communication skills with a confident demeanor in front of customers. - Ability to work with structure and objective-oriented work methodology. - Familiarity with project management techniques. - Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and customers. - Self-motivated and proactive in approach. - Flexibility to travel across the UK as required.
