Information Management Project Manager

Job Purpose/Overview

  • Plan and organise the activities and related meetings and touchpoints across Information Management
  • Drive and ensure delivery of the planned activities whilst providing delivery assurance oversight
  • Manage the Information Management Risks, Issues, Assumptions and Dependencies
  • Produce the Information Management Delivery Plan to fulfil activities on the pipeline
  • Manage and produce weekly reporting the Information Management Lead, Lead Analyst, Lead Architect and CoE Delivery Lead produce weekly reports
  • Coordinate tasks between services in Information Management and External Entities
  • Support the Information Management Lead with the overall IM finances
  • Manage the Information Management Team Deliverable Descriptions

Contextual Information

The Information Management Project Manager will be responsible for supporting the Information Management Lead as well as the other IM leads in a number of areas. The team organisation in the form of daily and weekly meetings as well as the production of the weekly performance reports. They also have to create and maintain the Information Management Plan that consolidates the tasks across the whole team into a connected whole. Alongside this, the maintenance of the RAID log to ensure any Risks or issues are raised to the Information Management Lead to handle and the assumptions and dependencies between the teams are controlled.

Each of the areas of Information Management either, require additional resources to support project demand such as the Customer Engagement & Support team with analysts and the Architecture team with Architects or, on that case of the CoEs an amount of resource based on how the managed services were scoped. The project manager is responsible for supporting the scoping and acquisition of those resources alongside the leads and ensuring they can be paid for either out of the IM budget or charged back to the Business function to that requires the service.

Across Information Management there are many deliverables that each activity will require. The project manager is there to support the creation of product descriptions that set out the definition and quality criteria for those deliverables.

Principal Accountabilities (Outputs of the Job - Activities & Decisions)

  • Accountable for producing the Information Management implementation plan and assuring its delivery
  • Responsible for co-ordination of the regular meetings and touchpoints across Information Management
  • Accountable for managing the Information Management Risks, Issues, Assumptions and Dependencies
  • Responsible for the coordination of tasks between services in Information Management and External Entities
  • Manage and produce weekly reporting the Information Management Lead, Lead Analyst, Lead Architect and CoE Delivery Lead produce weekly reports
  • Responsible for driving the Information Management Team to ensure Deliverable Descriptions are current.
  • Support the Information Management Lead with the overall IM finances

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience

Knowledge & Skills

  • Extensive experience of Project Management including but not limited to producing plans, RAID logs, product descriptions, cross-team coordination;
  • Extensive experience of Project Finance Control;
  • Strong workshop facilitation and communication skills, including planning, presentation, communication and mediation skills;
  • Experience of delivering IT Projects ie Information Requirement development, Data Analysis and IT system specification;
  • Relevant qualifications and experience in one or more of the Information Management disciplines of Information Architecture, Information Analysis, Master Data Management, Data Administration or Database System development.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

  • Degree level or equivalent in a related subject or business relevant subject
  • Experience of Project Management in a Capital Construction project or related industry
  • Track record of project or programme delivery

Desirable

  • Professional education and/or qualification in Business Analysis
  • Professional education and/or qualification in Information Architecture or Data Analysis
  • Significant working experience in Nuclear, asset Intensive and/or Safety Critical industries
