A great opportunity has arisen for a Technical/Cloud Engineer to work alongside my client's established ICT team based in Bradford.
Your core role and focus is all about maintaining the group's systems and infrastructure, ensuring reliability, availability, security, fitness for purpose and good performance. Ensure that a high level of system uptime is maintained with minimum disruption to the business and implementation of preventative measures to reduce any downtime.
MS 365 cloud based technologies, on prem, with Servers moving to azure - any of those migration skills or projects experience is key - cloud expertise is key for them as there is a knowledge gap in that area.
This role includes on-call support on a shift/rota-basis between the hours of 8am and 6pm. An example may include performing system upgrades outside normal hours of usage in order to maximise availability, usually working from home, or to provide support to their Contact Centres in the event that one of their systems is not usable.
The role is responsible for the support of a range of technologies and therefore there is the necessity to keep up to date with current technologies and best practices. This will require some elements of self-study.
Regular business travel will be necessary to other company sites.
The must haves
Cloud based technologies; Azure.
MS 365 running in a hybrid environment.
Good working knowledge across the full range of systems and technologies within a typical Microsoft oriented infrastructure, including: Server room (power, light, etc.), Voice and Data Networking (WAN and LAN), Microsoft Active Directory, Security, Skype for Business, Windows Servers, Applications, Virtualisation Technologies (VMware), understanding of SQL server, Remote and Home Working Solutions, Email and Internet Technologies, PCs and related equipment.
Experience supporting Exchange 2016/O365 Hybrid.
Experience supporting Windows Server R2 2012/2016/2019 above (advanced features, eg DFSR/RDP/DNS/DHCP services and AD).
Providing second and third line technical support, liaising directly with users and suppliers.
