Job Title: Graduate RF design Engineer Salary: £25,000 to £28,000 per annum Location: St. Austell, Cornwall Exciting opportunity for a fresh or early stage Graduate Radio Frequency Engineer to join our company, initially working on an Innovate UK funded project, to build a commercial demonstrator of a wireless power transfer system using novel electronics and physical principles. We will be creating something completely new and of great benefit to the environment! Working on novel technologies in magnetic resonance, the successful candidate will be able to interact with academic leaders in the technology, working to realise a commercial demonstrator of a proven conceptual design in renewable energy systems. The Renewable Energy sector is an exciting place to be at the moment with many innovations led by climate change and maintaining energy security for the world whilst minimising the impact on the environment by reducing the fossil fuel used in energy generation. Increasing the supply of clean energy is something that the world desperately needs and this project will have a positive impact on the climate. This innovation will work by transmitting high levels of electrical power across a gap that is wider than currently possible. The successful applicant will be tasked with building the power electronics to an existing design that produces W at VHF/UHF. Building the magnetic resonator unit to a novel, patented design that is quite extraordinary in its performance. Over the product development phase, the project will start from a simple test-bed design, to get the basics right, learning vital lessons, and then move through stages of increasing sophistication towards a final prototype that will be used in real-world applications! The skills of particular benefit would be: Mathematical ability Relevant experience and/or understanding of building power electronics Experience of CAD and computer simulation - particularly Comsol for predictive modelling and Solidworks for mechanical design Experience and attributes: Working largely on your own, but in a busy building with other companies operating, you will need to be a self-starter who is able to operate remotely from management, but with good level of guidance and support to steer you on the right path A flare for design As a start up company, someone with a entrepreneurial spirit and a drive to move products through the phases of development to commercialisation would be great How To Apply Please send a CV to (see below) People Source Consulting Ltd is acting as an Employment Agency in relation to this vacancy.
